Well, we are on the one of the most important points: appreciation! Appreciate what you have and be grateful for it! Than we can go further.
Here is a little exercise for you that will change your life!
Lets say that you find out your state of mind and a wish from the breathing exercise in 9 Easy Steps for Happiness – Happiness Formula (if you haven’t, please, do it, do it how many times you need in order to get those answers, those are the most important ingredients of your success, satisfaction and happiness) than we need to transform that wish into a goal.
Take a notebook.
1. On the left side write your goals.
Well written goal has to pass trough SMART mechanism
S – specific
M – measurable
A – achievable
R – realistic
T – timely
For example, if now is 01.09.2013 and you have 75kg, the goal can be:
Goal: On 31.12.2013 I have 65 kg.
Specific means that you wrote exactly what are you going to achieve, but what is very important, you did it in PRESENT tense, like you already done it.
Measurable means that you can measure your weight and see if you done it.
Achievable means that you are going to lose 10 kg in four months – it is possible.
Realistic means that it is real, it is possible.
Timely means that you have set exact deadline.
After goal, write your plan. How are you going to achieve it? What are the actions? Every action is a new goal, so set it as a main goal. Make prioritization of actions and do it!
That is a very well known goal set technique, but I don’t think that is enough.
What I would like to add to SMART technique is that you have to feel that you already achieved it. Close your eyes and visualize, for example, how do you look like with 65kg, try to imagine situations when people come to you and say to you how you look nice, how you are attractive. Feel that thought. Live it! And You will do it!
F – Feel that visualization!
L – Live that feeling!
Y – You will do it!
You can remember this by association
FLY SMART=Imagine that you are a pilot on a plane. If you don’t fly smart you are going to hit the ground.
(This is a place where mind take over from heart. Association is the best technique for remembering. Not repetition! Association. About techniques for mind as SMART technique was, we will talk latter on.)
2. On the right side of notebook write “gratitude” sentences like you already have it and you are grateful for it.
I am very grateful and satisfied now, when I have 65 kg.
As the time passes and if you act by your action plan you will see how goals become reality and disappear from the left side and go to the right side, where you are really grateful for what you have. It is fantastic feeling when you see that. You will feel great! Then set new goals and reach them!
Every night before you go to bed say: “Thank you” for everything in your life, even if it is just eyes to see.
From the state of gratitude you will come to the state of having, because you will attract more and more better things. Message that you send to Universe is that you are satisfied and Universe correspond to you with more things to be grateful and satisfied for. If you are not grateful, if you are just complaining, Universe doesn’t understand “No” it just give you more and more things that you have been thinking of. So, if you are complaining about bills, Universe gives you more bills, because it doesn’t make difference are you complaining or not. But if you talk how you always find a parking place, you just always will, because Universe hears you and gives it to you.
Get a notebook and do your left and right side. Start a change!
